YMCA Camp Silver Creek Gears up to Celebrate 75th Anniversary

In the summer of 1938 children began attending Camp Silver Creek, acquiring new skills, friends and joyful memories in the process.

Along the way, thousands of campers and staff have enjoyed the scenery of the setting, the zaniness of camp activities and helped build special traditions passed from generation to generation.

In August 2013, the YMCA Camp Silver Creek Alumni Association will host a 75th anniversary celebration and preparations are actively underway! Please mark your calendar and plan to join former campers and staff for a fun filled weekend to celebrate the enduring magic of Camp Silver Creek!

We're actively looking for volunteers to help with our preparations (alumni recruitment, communications, logistics, history of camp, etc.)  - please contact us at contact.cscaa@gmail.com to get involved.

CSCAA hosts three annual events that are a great opportunity to connect with old friends and make a few new ones:

The 19th Annual Camp Silver Creek Golf Tournament will be held June 20, 2016 at the Salem Golf Club. Check back for more information on registration and how you can help to support this event, regardless of your handicap!

The CSCAA Work Party is a once a year event where we roll up our sleeves and spend a day working on maintenance and improvement projects at camp. There's no better way to forge a bond with fellow alumni than a little manual labor. Trade skills and talents are always welcome, elbow grease and strong work ethics are equally celebrated. Dates for 2015 are TBD. Email us if you're interested!

Finally, the CSCAA holds one board meeting in the Rec Hall at camp each July. The Annual Camp Board Meeting (as are all of our board meetings) are open to camp alumni to attend. The upside of this meeting? Aside from the incredibly beautiful scenery and a chance to witness firsthand the stellar camp staff and zany campers, this meeting invite comes with a free dinner (complete with dining hall atmosphere) and entertainment with an all-camp campfire.
